I’ll offer you someone who will naively attempt to get through it if you give me more and tighter security with the newest and greatest technology. They are typically unsuccessful, of course. They believe it won’t be me, even if person after person is caught.

Throughout my life, I have gone through airport security multiple times. They’re not playing around, those TSA officers. Additionally, the technology has advanced to the point that it would take a highly skilled criminal to get away with it. Why these folks even try is beyond me.
A woman from the Dominican Republic attempted a novel method of smuggling drugs into the US while arriving at O’Hare Airport. Naturally, she failed and was taken into custody right away. What did she imagine would happen?
When the suspect went through security, she was in a wheelchair. She initially appeared to get away with it, but the Department of Homeland Security decided to do a more complete investigation because they believed she was suspect.
Nothing was discovered by TSA in the woman’s bags or on her. When they put the wheelchair through the x-ray machine, something wasn’t quite right. Then it was discovered by the drug dog. They made the decision to cut into the wheelchair cushions at that moment.

Security discovered the drugs there. She had fourteen one-kilogram cocaine packages in her possession. They are worth $17,000 each. Coke valued at $238,000 was discovered hidden in her wheelchair. She won’t be flying anyplace anytime soon, in my opinion.
