Sim-switching Scams Have Cleaned the Bank Accounts of Victims

Cyberscoop claims that the FCC has been alerting mobile carriers about Sim-Swapping frauds allowing con artists to access your phone and subsequently “reset or takeover other accounts, including social media profiles or financial accounts.”

Two victims discussed in a post on TikHub about their phones being hacked; thereafter, in a matter of minutes, they were locked out of their phones and everything in their bank vanished.

The FCC claims that scammers take over your phone by calling the victim’s phone carrier and using their personal information to pilfer the phone number and swap it into a device under their control by.
