Recently, a well-known movie hotel in Illinois got some attention, but not for the right reasons.
Arrest At Illinois Motel From Famous Movie
I was raised in Chicago’s west suburbs. Illinois State University in Normal is where I attended college. I traveled I-55 between the two numerous times throughout the years. After I left the Joliet region, the only thing I could see was countryside.

It was easy to miss since, if there was anything, it was conspicuous. A small motel in a remote area was one of those landmarks. In Braidwood, it’s the Braidwood Motel. Every time I drove past it over the first few years, I assumed the location was familiar.
I finally figured it out with my friends. The motel was featured in the film “Trains, Planes, And Automobiles.” John Candy and Steve Martin had their “those aren’t two pillows” moment there. It was referred to as Edelen’s Braidwood Inn in the movie. I was thrilled to learn because I’m a huge admirer of the movie.
It is now known as the Sunset Motel. Although I’ve never there, I’m going to assume that Yelp doesn’t give it a high rating. It has a somewhat gloomy appearance. Regretfully, the company was recently in the headlines, and not in a positive way.
A couple was detained in the middle of the day for engaging in sexual activity while driving in the motel parking lot while nude. The male was 74 years old, and the woman was 33. It most likely occurred during the day because he is unable to drive at night.

In addition to having drugs on her person, the female suspect has a history of arrests. The likelihood of her being a prostitute is high. She will be incarcerated for some time.
