Centerpoint Energy – Power Outages, Downed Power Lines

Because of the huge demand, there are currently technical issues with the CenterPoint Energy outage map. You can still call 800-227-1376 to report a downed line or outage.

Travel – Red Travel Restriction

UPDATE: Only emergency personnel are permitted to travel on the highways in Warrick, Gibson, Knox, Dubois, Perry, and Vanderburgh Counties at this time due to a RED/WARNING travel restriction.

When a “warning” local travel advice is in effect, people are advised to:

  • Refrain from all travel;
  • Comply with necessary emergency measures;
  • Cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans; and
  • Obey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers.

It is allowed for critical staff to travel and for people who have lost power to migrate.For further information, view the map.

The County of Warrick

  • The Yankeetown Fire Chief has announced that their Fire Station, located at 2600 Old State Rd 66 in Newburgh, IN, will be opening its doors to provide a warm refuge for those in need. This initiative ensures that there is a safe space for individuals seeking warmth during cold weather. For any inquiries, please call 812-706-4313.
  • Per Ohio Township Trustee Chad Bennett he has announced that their Event Center Is Open As A Warming Shelter, located at 3433 Libbert Rd, Newburgh, IN 47630 will be opening its doors to provide a warm refuge for those in need. This initiative ensures that there is a safe space for individuals seeking warmth during cold weather will be opening its doors to provide a warm refuge for those in need.
  • Impact Ministries in Boonville is a warming center and is also offering warm meals to residents. They are located at 509 E Walnut Street in Boonville.

Henderson

  • Robards City Hall is now open as a warming center.

Tree Removal from Roadways

  • Warrick Co. Highway Dept: If you know of trees down blocking the roadway you can report them to our office at 812-897-6126 or dispatch at 812-897-1200.
  • Vanderburgh Co. Highway Dept: Call 812-435-5777.

Road Closures

This is a small list of the county’s road closures. This list is not all-inclusive.

  • Until Further notice Old Henderson Road is closed at Newman Road due to downed trees
  • Darmstadt Road is closed until further notice between Mt. Pleasant Rd and Schenk Road due to a downed tree.
  • North St Joe Avenue at Schenk road is closed until further notice due to a downed powerline.
