Man Almost Dies After Being Bitten by Family Hamster

After being bitten by a hamster, a man is physically exhaling with relief.

He nearly died!

The 34-year-old Nathan Halliday was holding Mochi, the family’s pet hamster, when the rodent bit down on his finger and refused to release go. In fact, Halliday’s wife had to fight to remove her husband’s finger from the Syrian hamster’s firm grip.

When they did, it was only the beginning of the issues.

Halliday quickly became aware that something was amiss since he was having trouble breathing and had hives all over his body. He was taken to the hospital right away after his relatives alerted emergency services.

Halliday received two shots of adrenaline there, along with oxygen and antihistamines.

Even after he attempted changing the tale from a hamster bite to a scorpion bite, he claimed that although his experience was frightening and the medical staff was professional, they also seemed to find it kind of funny.

Halliday was actually in danger, but you probably don’t know that. Three years after a Japanese man died from the same kind of injury, a Spanish woman was murdered by a hamster bite in 2007.

Halliday, on the other hand, was handed some epi pens and sent off. Sadly, Mochi the hamster passed away after giving his owner the bite.

So watch out for those teeth if you’re considering bringing a hamster into the family for the holidays.
