Morgan Wallen, Shaboozey Lead Billboard Music Awards Country Winners

The top winners in country music at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards were Shaboozey and Morgan Wallen.

Along with Jelly Roll and Meghan Moroney, the vocalist of “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” was one of three country musicians who performed. On a night when he won three awards, including Top Country Song, he actually opened the ceremony. He later sang his brand-new song, “Highway.”

Although Zach Bryan (5) technically won more categories, Wallen’s four victories made him the biggest winner in the country categories. When the “Love Somebody” singer was announced as the BBMA winner in these four categories, she gave a brief acceptance speech:

  • Top Male Artist
  • Top Country Artist
  • Top Country Male Artist
  • Top Collaboration (for “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone)

With ten wins, Taylor Swift was the biggest winner of the 2024 Billboard Music wins.

Other country musicians that were present were Megan Moroney and Jelly Roll. Despite their respective performances, neither took home the country BBMA awards on Thursday, December 12, in Las Vegas.

Beyonc won Top Country Female Artist and The Red Clay Strays won Top Country Duo/Group in the other country categories.

In a pre-recorded video, Wallen expressed gratitude to his fans for allowing him to create the music he desires. Since he never acknowledged receiving the November CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year, his official acceptance is noteworthy.
