Frederick – A Hurricane Survivor with an Unbreakable Spirit is Adoptable in Warrick Co

Frederick is this week’s pet of the week! During Hurricane Disaster Relief efforts, the WHS took in Frederick, a 57-pound Hound mix, who is currently looking for a permanent home!

Despite his lengthy voyage, Frederick’s spirit remains unwavering. We received this 3-year-old Hound mix from Best Friends Animal Society as part of the Hurricane Helene disaster relief operations. He left the Washington County Johnson City Animal Shelter after the storm and found refuge at the Warrick Humane Society, but he is now prepared to find his real permanent family. -WHS

Important Things to Know Before Adopting Frederick

His vaccinations are up to date, and he has been microchipped, neutered, dewormed, and protected against fleas, ticks, and heartworms.

Hound Personality: What to Expect with Frederick

Frederick would be the best adventure companion! He is such a kind, lively person who enjoys running, exploring, and socializing. He is the ideal buddy because of his charming demeanor and silly disposition. Always eager for the next experience with you, he will be devoted and affectionate.

On her Facebook page, WHS volunteer Angie Smith Wright wrote, “Duke took Frederick out again today Warrick Tails on Trails.” What a good boy he is! He is laid back, seems unconcerned by people or other dogs, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys tracking scents! Frederick loved to be petted, was able to sit, and would accept rewards gently! He was a very laid-back and adaptable puppy.
