Teen Fatally Shot by Iowa Man Who Unloads Weapon and Waits for Cops

A shooting that took place early on Thursday morning in Clearfield, Iowa, resulted in the death of one guy from Iowa.

Calls were received by Taylor County 911 at 3:19 a.m. regarding a shooting that had taken place at Bootleggers Bar and Grill, which is located on Broadway Street.

According to the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI), when deputies arrived, they discovered a guy who had been shot in the head and had died as a result of his injuries.

Colby Nelson, who is 19 years old and hails from Lenox, Iowa, is the victim.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Alan Schultz, 37, of Bedford, Iowa, who is being accused of first-degree murder. Close to Nelson’s body, the authorities saw Schultz leaning against an SUV. When deputies asked Schultz if he was the shooter, he responded with a yes, according to the DCI.

The criminal complaint states that Nelson and Schultz’s disagreement took place in the pub when they were both drinking.

Immediately after leaving the bar, Schultz went home to acquire a weapon as per cbs2iowa.

Schultz stopped Nelson as he was leaving the pub, fired one shot into Nelson’s face, unloaded his gun, and then placed it on the ground. Nelson was then removed from the bar. In the meantime, Schultz made his way to his SUV and waited for the deputies to arrive nearby.

In Ankeny, Iowa, the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner will conduct a forensic autopsy on the deceased individual.
