Would Hoosiers Really Choose a Super Bowl Victory Over Love?

The ultimate “Would You Rather” question was posed in a recent survey: Would you rather find true love or watch your team win the Super Bowl? States have different answers, and you might be surprised by Indiana’s.

February is a popular month for romantics and sports enthusiasts alike. Caesars Superdome will host Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 9, 2025, almost one week prior to Valentine’s Day on February 14. In celebration of both events, sports website Wetten.com recently conducted a survey asking 2,000 unmarried NFL fans if they would rather find true love or see their team win the Super Bowl this year or any other year. It’s easy to assume that some people in Indiana are a bit more romantic than others.

Would Indiana Rather Find Love or See Their Team Win the Super Bowl?

Approximately 48% of American football fans who are unmarried would choose to see their favorite NFL team win the Super Bowl above finding true love, based the statistics gathered. In fact, 78% of single football fans in Michigan choose a Super Bowl victory over love, which puts the state ahead of all others in that regard. However, what was the Hoosiers’ response to this query? An astounding 52% of unmarried NFL fans in Indiana, according to Wetten.com, would rather win the Super Bowl than find a Valentine. To be honest, it’s not that hard to believe—I know some extremely ardent Indianapolis Colts fans.

Who Values a Super Bowl Win More: Men or Women?

The percentage of unmarried men and women who were more concerned with a Super Bowl victory was also revealed by the poll. Women are really more inclined to trade affection for a win, which surprised me. According to the study, 51% of American women would prefer to give the Lombardi Trophy to their team rather than find their true love, while only 46% of men would do the same. Maybe it’s not too much to ask for both, and I’m not sure whether there is a right or wrong answer here. In any case, even if it’s a last-minute Hail Mary proposal, let’s hope Valentine’s Day night and Super Bowl Sunday are disappointment-free.
