Fourth of July, a woman drowned when she fell off a boat and died.
This week, the Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable said that at 8:59 p.m. local time on Thursday, someone called 911 to say that a woman had “fallen off a boat near the Scott’s Ridge Boat Ramp” in Lake Conroe.
Several departments “responded to the area” at the time, and at 11:30 p.m., divers found the woman.
Authorities told PEOPLE that the woman was Jerri MacMeekin, who is 31 years old. Three men were arrested on July 4 by Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens. They were Jerri’s brother Kyle MacMeekin, 29, and Shane Annboli, 44. Both were charged with fishing while drunk.
When police arrived, they found that two boats, one of which was a pontoon boat, had been going together. According to police records from the Montgomery County Police Reporter, two men and a woman jumped into the water to try to save Jerri but were unable to find her. A news source said that the woman who jumped in to help was also reported missing at one time.

The Police Reporter says that after the woman was found about an hour later, divers found Jerri’s body.
From what the Police Reporter knows, the people who were driving both boats were then arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Jail. The men and the charges against them are not on the jail’s latest list of inmates.
The Police Reporter was able to find records that showed Kyle had a $3,000 bond and Anniboli had a $1,000 bond. Law & Crime said that both guys were freed after being arrested.
Capt. Miguel Rosario of the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office told PEOPLE, “We never enjoy pulling people out of the water, especially on a holiday weekend when you’re supposed to be having fun and spending time with your family.”

The news source says that Jerri wasn’t wearing a life jacket when she was pulled out of the water.
Capt. Rosario said, “All the divers I know have never pulled someone out of the water wearing a life jacket.”
A message at the end of the Facebook post from the Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable said that Philip Cash sent his “deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim.”
