With our yearly Big BKR Smackdown, which allows listeners to cast real-time votes for their favorite country songs, we at WBKR wrapped up 2024. In a series of “smackdowns,” we play the top 64 songs of the year back-to-back on air after placing them in a bracket for a tournament modeled after the NCAA. In each coupling, listeners cast their votes for their favorite song. The winning song moves further up our bracket. The losing song is taken off the air. Ultimately, only two songs remain to compete for the title of #1 Country Song of the Year in the Tristate.
