The NFL tight end is already discussing wedding dates while the world anxiously awaits Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement.
Even though these aren’t his own wedding dates, he does have strong views about when weddings should—or rather, shouldn’t—take place.
His prospective wife is planning an autumn wedding, which falls in the middle of football season, according to a caller on a podcast episode with his brother Jason Kelce. The brothers were questioned about their thoughts on fall rituals.
“I actually don’t know people who have gotten married in the fall because all the weddings I’ve been to and all my friends always do it in the summer, I guess,” Travis responds.
“Yeah, we can’t go usually.” Jason continues.
The star for the Kansas City Chiefs suggested that the caller attempt to communicate with his wife. In order for him to be more excited about upcoming anniversaries, Travis also suggested that the date be moved.
“Also, if you really do have a problem with that, maybe it’s in her best interest to not have it in the fall so that she knows you’re invested in the anniversary every time it comes around,” Travis explains.
I’ve witnessed weddings in the month of February, after all. He continues, “I’m not sure if the fall is a good wedding season because I’ve seen weddings everywhere but in the fall.”
Jason intervenes at this point to provide some marriage guidance. After all, he is having their fourth kid with his wife, Kylie Kelce, whom they have been married to for about seven years.
“Brother, I’m gonna tell you right now, do the fall wedding and avoid this frivolous fight that means absolutely f–king nothing,” Jason says straight up. “The football game is open for you to watch. For example, record it and play it again.
“There are certain things that are more important than football, and if the wedding isn’t more important that football, we got some bigger issues here,” he says.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Relationship History
Swift and Kelce have been dating for more than a year. After Kelce saw Swift’s Eras Tour performance on July 8, 2023, rumors of a possible romance began to circulate. During his podcast, he expressed his disappointment at not being able to provide Swift with a friendship bracelet featuring his phone number. It was his first time trying to make his shot.
