Fans received word in August of last year that Lainey Wilson was scheduled to return to Yellowstone for the show’s last season.
However, since there are only two episodes left in the series and Wilson hasn’t shown on screen yet, some viewers are starting to worry that they might not see her at all.
- Wilson joined the Yellowstone cast at the beginning of Season 5.
- She plays the role of Abby, an aspiring country star who is a love interest for Dutton ranch hand Ryan (Ian Bohen).
- The first half of the show’s fifth season aired in 2022.

Wilson revealed that she took part in this season in an interview with Variety about her Storyteller of the Year Award at this year’s Hitmakers event, but she didn’t have many other details about which episode she would be appearing in.
“I personally don’t even know when my part’s gonna be airing,” the artist stated, “but I will tell you this: I only got my script, so I have no clue what the rest of the season is gonna look like.”
Wilson, however, believes that Yellowstone fans have good reason to be anticipating the show’s last episodes.
“If it has the same kind of feeling and attitude that my script has, I think it’s gonna be pretty bada–, and I think people are gonna be excited to see it end this way,” she says.

Wilson said in another part of the interview that balancing her acting career with a hectic tour schedule has made it difficult to find time to film Yellowstone. The rest of the Yellowstone crew, including program creator Taylor Sheridan, told her that they would “figure it out,” but in the end, Wilson claims that everything fell into place.
“And so to have people who can just kind of understand the grind on the other end, it’s made it a lot easier than had they not really understood what they were getting themselves into,” she continues.
The network also released a casting call for extras for a performance sequence centered around Wilson’s Yellowstone character after the show announced her return. Later, she was seen in Fort Worth, Texas, filming the scene.
The Paramount Network will broadcast Yellowstone’s Season 5 Episode 13 at 8 PM ET on Sunday, December 8. There remains hope for another new program from the Yellowstone universe even though the show’s announced new episodes are coming to an end. Last year, rumors of a new prequel named 1944 started to circulate.
