The 2024 CMA Awards honored the late Toby Keith on Wednesday, November 20. It was a heartwarming experience.
The show’s hosts, Lainey Wilson, Luke Bryan, and Peyton Manning, took a moment during the first hour to toast the country music legend.
Bryan said, “We want to take a moment to toast the great Toby Keith,” while each of his co-hosts held a red Solo cup aloft.
Several others were seen holding up their red plastic cups as the audience was panned by the camera. In sympathy, those without the recognizable vessel hoisted their own drinks.
“A superb artist. An outstanding American. And a tremendous icon of country music. “You’ll be missed, buddy, Toby,” Bryan went on.
