At the Opportunity Center of Owensboro, we adore our friends! They are always up to something entertaining, and I can attest to their culinary prowess. I’m confident that I can speak for many people when I say that delectable food is the path to my heart.
The Opportunity Center of Owensboro
The Opportunity Center is explained in this brief and charming podcast episode. The podcast takes its name from the original Pinocchio’s Deli, which was operated entirely by the show’s cast members throughout the 1970s and 1990s.
Because Pinocchio’s Deli was so well-liked and prosperous, it was mentioned in newspapers and other media worldwide. In addition to enjoying the food made there, patrons traveled from all over the tri-state to support the effort, which offered training and job opportunities. When it relocated to the former Kingfisher boat building, I recall it. I found it really awesome!
Opportunity Center Nutrition Program is a Hit
The Opportunity Center started the process of reviving the well-known deli two years ago, even though Pinocchio’s Deli had been shuttered since 1996. In order to teach clients how to organize, prepare, cook, and serve meals every day of the week, my friend Ashley Vanover took on the role of Nutrition Program Manager and revamped the program. She informed me that one of their initial objectives was to somehow revive Pinocchio’s.
Introducing Pinocchio’s Pop-ups
Chad, Spencer, and I attended the inaugural Pinocchio’s Pop-up event for lunch and treats prior to Christmas. The tomato soup I ordered was the greatest tomato soup I’ve ever tasted, I promise you. Even the croutons were baked from scratch using delectable bread from Niko’s Bakery in Owensboro. We also received cake pops, cookies, and other treats that were adorable and delicious!
