The Snow from the Ice Storm Just Melted and We Saw a 73 Day
I was completely shocked when my mother informed me that Monday will be 73 degrees here in Southern Indiana. It’s February, for heaven’s sake! Since I was confined to an office without a window, I must admit that I was a little irritated when my husband texted me to inform me how lovely the weather was outside.
My daughter was already riding her bike with pals in the neighborhood in shorts when I arrived home. I took a wonderful snooze outside to wind down because I was tired, but I still find it hard to believe that it was so warm in the dead of January in the Midwest. The temperature has been in the 50s since Monday. Actually, this morning I just switched my heat back on. Although the National Weather Service warned of snow on the horizon, I wish this mild weather would last forever.
All Four Seasons in One Week
According to their post, the upcoming week will bring some weird weather patterns. There will be variations in temperature. Winds from strong storms could cause damage. After that, there will most likely be some snow accumulation. February is far from gone! As a matter of fact, it is only beginning.
Friends, you better buckle up. In only one week, the Midwest will do what it does best: toss us all four seasons!
NWS Warns of Accumulating Snow
According to the National Weather Service:
Over the following week, unpredictable weather with a wide range of temperatures is anticipated! Through Thursday, showers and storms are predicted, with a risk of a few severe storms across the Pennyrile on Saturday and into Saturday night. With some accumulation expected Monday evening, the temperature might be just chilly enough for a rain/snow mix Monday into Tuesday.
This particular image was very “concerning.” Sunday will see a return to cooler temperatures, with highs in the 30s and 40s and lows in the 20s, according to the National Weather Service. On Monday evening, snow accumulation is possible.
