In a video posted to social media, the 32-year-old explained what transpired on Saturday to his admirers. During his meet-and-greet, he began to feel sick, but he persisted and felt OK as the show started.

He felt awful all of a sudden and realized that he had to call off the show. He claims that this is a decision he has never taken before, yet it probably prevented fans from witnessing something genuinely terrible.

The worst happened before he even returned to the vehicle.

“I was in the bushes for about 10 minutes, just as violently sick as I’ve ever been in my entire life,” McCollum recalls.

For the next 48 hours, he was “incredibly sick,” and it wasn’t until today, January 28, that he felt well enough to apologize on social media. He also pledged to return and thanked State College supporters for their understanding.

Taking five days off will undoubtedly be beneficial; McCollum won’t be performing again until Friday, when he starts a three-day tour of the northeast.

McCollum claims to be nearly fully recovered, although he did not specify the specifics of his ailment. He has a 5-month-old kid named Major with his wife, Hallie Ray.
