No Skips Here! 13 Country Artists Reveal Their Desert Island Album

The musicians that we adore in the country music industry are also admirers of the genre! Many performers truly enjoy the music that their idols’ colleagues are creating and look up to them other.

Which albums, in your opinion, would our favorite singers be content to listen to nonstop for the rest of their lives?

At the ACM Awards, we asked a number of country music artists what they would choose for a desert island record. You already know how to play this traditional conversation starter: You merely need to say, “Imagine you’re stranded on a desert island and you only have _____ with you, what would that be?”

We decided to give it a musical twist by asking these vocalists which albums they would prefer to have on hand if they were ever stranded on an island, much like Chuck Noland in the film Cast Away.

Not everyone responded with a country record, which surprised me. Actually, some choose rock projects, while others picked pop records. Nonetheless, country music continued to rule, and most of these performers selected a collection from the country music family.

A few astute singer-songwriters also choose multi-disc collector’s sets or greatest hits albums (we’re looking at you, Jelly Roll). We ignored these as we didn’t establish any ground rules before posing the question. After all, you had better have something you enjoy listening to if you’re going to be alone on an island for eternity.
