Things got a bit interesting during Luke Combs’ most recent guest appearance on Luke Bryan’s It’s All Country, a new series on Hulu.
At one point, before filming began, the two country music icons turned to the camera to describe something that had happened that morning while they were playing catch at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
“By the way, he texted me at 5:50AM this morning, now I’m like, ‘Are we still filming today?” Uncertain of the reason behind his friend’s early texting when they had a big day planned, Bryan explains. He mimicked reading Combs’ texts by making a hand motion.
As it happens, they also had ambitious ideas off-camera:
“We had a watch swap planned. This is where you remove timepieces from your collection and exchange them,” Bryan added.
This was the play, Combs said simply, “Yep.”
It appears that both Lukes are watch enthusiasts. Fans would be surprised to learn that Combs has previously described some of the watches in his collection.
“So, we switched. Regarding their pastime, Bryan compared it to a pocketbook. After exchanging rather perplexed glances, Bryan said to Combs, “So, what do girls swap? “Bracelets of friendship?”
“I feel like they share each other’s clothing,” Combs interrupted. However, size will be a problem there, therefore we can’t do that.
After that, the two stars embraced and laughed. “You can wear mine, but I can’t wear yours,” Combs jokingly said.
This also applies to watches, as wristwear is tailored to the wearer’s wrist, just like apparel. In their situation, Combs may need to add a link or two, and Bryan may need to remove one or two off Combs’ watch.
Regarding the watch trade and who might have won, no information was disclosed.
