Koe Wetzel Ends Up With Broken Shoulder After a Week on Tour With Hardy

Evan Paul had to ask Koe Wetzel, the most recent guest on Taste of Country Nights: On Demand, which tour was the most boisterous he had ever been a part of.

It’s hardly a very surprising answer.

The vocalist of “High Road” says that his recent seven-day acoustic tour with Hardy was the most crazy live run he has ever had. He relates an incredible tale.

“Me and Hardy had a week-long acoustic tour in Texas, that sum b—h was rowdy, dude,” Wetzel starts out.

“I think he finished out the weekend with a full-band show and I woke up with a broken shoulder and all kind of I mean, it was all over the place, dude.”

He claims that the rowdiness is comparable to that of professional wrestlers in the 1990s.

“We’d wake everyday about 2 o’clock, and just kind of nurse a hangover, and then about an hour before the show we’d hammer it down again and get back after it,” he says.

Texas fans already adore Hardy, so Wetzel knew going in that he was in for a great time, especially as he sashayed throughout his home state. Hardy is renowned for being boisterous and a touch wild.

In Wetzel’s Taste of Country Nights interview, he also talks about what it’s like to have his first major label record, “High Road,” become popular in mainstream country music after years of success in his home state of Texas.

Wetzel thinks his fan base has stayed loyal because he hasn’t deviated too much from his original sound, despite the fact that fans frequently react negatively when their favorite local musician makes it to mainstream radio and achieves national recognition.
