Justice Served Toddler Assault and Child Pornography Lead to Lengthy Prison Term

On Thursday, a man from North Texas was sentenced to 120 years in prison for using concealed cameras to take nude photos of preteens and filming himself molesting a toddler.

Leslie Michael Alt, 40, entered a guilty plea to two counts of production of child pornography and three counts of transportation of child pornography. Alt was sentenced to 1,440 months, or 120 years, in prison by federal judge Ada Brown, who presides over the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, on Thursday.

The investigation was conducted by the Grand Prairie police, as well as state and federal authorities.

In August 2022, the FBI discovered sexually explicit recordings on a computer during a search of Alt’s Forney residence.

Officers were alerted to a safe in Alt’s wardrobe by an FBI detection dog during the search. The safe was open and appeared to be empty; however, the dog continued to alarm agents to its presence. SD cards and a concealed camera were discovered by agents who removed the carpeted flooring of the safe. Videos of Alt sexually assaulting a toddler were discovered on one of the cards.

“I was devastated by the images he had of my daughter as a toddler.” The victim’s mother testified at the sentencing that she was unable to communicate to me, her mother, that any of this was occurring to her, and that she was unable to voice her discomfort. “At present, she is unaware of the events that have transpired.” One day, I will be compelled to inform her.

Furthermore, one of the adolescent victims expressed that the defendant’s crimes “shattered” her upon learning of them.

“My trust had been used against me, and I would never fully recover,” according to her. “It makes me sick to my stomach.”
