Jessie James Decker Details Her Escape From Los Angeles Wildfires

According to Jessie James Decker, she barely avoided the flames that are still burning in the vicinity of Los Angeles.

The country singer and her crew saw some dense black smoke coming from the Pacific Palisades neighborhood while they were in Santa Monica for a photo shoot.

To find out what was happening, we all hurried to the shore. In an Instagram Stories post, she says, “And I mean, it was just so eerie and trippy and the sky is filling out with dark smoke” (quote viaCountry Now).

“You can see the aircraft obtaining water from the sea. I mean, it was very unsettling. You knew this was serious, even if I am aware that there are fires in California.

As jets flew overhead, trying to put out the fire, Decker heard alarms blaring. She and her colleagues made the decision to halt their work and evacuate the area due to the rapid spread of the fire.

There was a lot of worry when Decker got back to her hotel.

We went from the hotel feeling like it was only about 20% full and really relaxed to the front desk lobby queues being crowded,” she adds. “Dogs are present everywhere. People with their families, newborns, etc. Just some who simply had to go, you know.

After noticing a woman with a small child in the lobby, the singer decided to vacate her hotel room to provide place for others in need. She promptly arranged for a plane to return to her family in Tennessee.

Decker, who is back in Tennessee, said she is thankful that her family is safe but that she is really devastated by what she saw and everything that has been lost.

She says, “I hope everyone gets out safely and I’m just praying for everyone.”

In addition to causing fatalities and injuries, the wildfires in Los Angeles have devastated over 5,000 acres and damaged over 1,000 houses.

In closing, Decker prayed for everyone’s safety and the firemen who are still battling the fire.
