Jelly Roll Performs at Massive FireAid Benefit Concert [Watch]

During a star-studded FireAid benefit event to collect money for those impacted by the flames that have ravaged Southern California, Jelly Roll was one of numerous.

With his emotional song that not only addresses pain but also provides hope, the country musician was an ideal choice for the occasion.

He told the audience, “I am honored to bring some country music to the FireAid tonight,” before starting his performance (see below).

He began his performance with “I Am Not Okay” before moving into “Hollywood Nights” by Bob Seger, including Travis Barker of Blink-182 as a special guest on drums.

“I think it’s important while I’m on this stage that I sing one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite songwriters, about one of my favorite cities in America,” Jelly said as he introduced him. “But it would only be right if I did it with somebody from Los Angeles, California.”

What Is the FireAid Benefit Concert?

LiveNation arranged the FireAid benefit event to help collect money for those impacted by the recent wildfires in California. Over a dozen musicians performed at the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome in Los Angeles as part of the festival. No Doubt, Stevie Nicks, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and others were also on the roster.

  • The Palisades Fire was the worst of the bunch, devastating 23,000 acres of land, homes and businesses.
  • Overall, more than 16,000 structures have been destroyed, with 29 confirmed fatalities.
  • Most fires have been extinguished, while the Palisades and Eaton Fires now sit at 98 percent and 99 percent contained, respectively

How Much Money Did FireAir Raise?

The final fundraising total for FireAid has not yet been disclosed. The organizers claimed to have raised almost $60 million in the days preceding the event. The FireAid website still has a link to donate.

Jelly Roll Arranges Concert for Wildfire First Responders

For the Los Angeles area’s first responders, Jelly Roll has organized a unique performance. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California will host a free performance on Saturday, February 1, exclusively for emergency personnel and their families.

According to TMZ, the National Guard, law enforcement, and fire departments have all received bulk emails containing information about ticket requests.Although it is listed as “Jelly Roll and Friends,” it is unclear who the friends will be.
