Many years ago, while making hot chocolate in the ancient house where I grew up, I discovered an incredible discovery. I chose the traditional method, which involved heating milk, sugar, and Hershey’s cocoa (the baking variety) in a pot.
When I opened the cupboard, I saw something I had never seen before: Mom had bought a small bottle of orange extract. My passion for the orange/chocolate combo has only grown since then, and I make an effort to add some flair to my hot chocolate whenever I can. The problem is that I was constantly experimenting with hot chocolate when I was younger. It’s a good pastime.
Owensboro’s Hot Chocolate Hop
I believe I’ve found my match in the hot chocolate creative category after looking at the “menu” for the 2024 Owensboro Hot Chocolate Hop. This year’s participating vendors include the following: The Brew Bridge, Burger Theory, the Owensboro Convention Center, LURE Seafood & Grille, SIP Owensboro, Goodwood, Fetta Pizza, Colby’s, Don Mario’s, Brasher’s Lil’ Nashville, The Pub on Second, Mellow Mushroom, Red Swing Coffee, The Creme Coffee House, and Peppermint’s at RPC. Here’s what they have in store for us (adult versions will be available as well):
Once you’ve literally gotten your “belly full,” you may stroll through Owensboro’s downtown. Additionally, at a celebration like this, you should not miss the river’s dancing lights.
Upon reviewing that list, I’ve come to the conclusion that I will need to “walk it off.” Now, where in the world did I put that extract of orange?
