Let me state right away that, while there are some songs about Indiana on this list, the purpose of this essay was not to locate them. I was shocked to discover how many songs had the word “Indiana” included in the lyrics, as all I was actually looking for.
Making this list of songs was a lot of fun, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Being a lifelong, proud Hoosier, I thought it was great to find so many songs about our state. It would be an understatement to say that some of the songs are better than others, but I can’t stress enough how important it is that you listen to all of these songs.
Now, I want to admit a few things before you begin to listen, scroll, and pass judgment.
- I realize there are going to be songs (probably a whole bunch) that are left off of this list. Just know that it was not intentional, and I would love to know any that I missed.
- I put the songs in alphabetical order, by artist, as to not show any favoritism.
-
I am NOT suggesting that all of these songs are good. Some are bad, some are weird, some are just okay, and I was surprised to learn that some are pretty friggin’ good. In fact, there are three songs that stood out to me, and I’ll go ahead and tell you about them now, so you can be prepared when you see them on the list.

Now that I’ve finished speaking, I’ll let the music speak for itself. Have fun!
