Fans Are Obsessing Over Kelly Clarkson’s Countrified Sabrina Carpenter Cover [Watch]

Kelly Clarkson’s “Kellyoke” renditions on the Kelly Clarkson Show will have to do while fans wait impatiently for her to release a country album.

Clarkson not only does a fantastic job performing well-known songs from the genre, but she also manages to make other songs seem country.

She recently gave the well-known pop classic “Please Please Please” by Sabrina Carpenter a country spin, more precisely a Dolly Parton spin.

She reveals, “Ever since I heard this song, for some reason I hear like Dolly Parton singing it as well,” following her performance of the song on her show.

“For some reason, it lends itself to country to me, so I asked my band if we could make more of a country version of it, cause we have the amazing pop version already.”

“But I love that song, and I love when a song is so good that you can kind of go into different genres with it,” she says. “But thank you, Sabrina, for that song, and thank you for letting me sing it.”

Fans Love Kelly Clarkson’s Country Version of “Please Please Please”

Although covering a well-known song is always risky, especially if you plan to alter it, Clarkson is a pro, and her renditions are nearly always well received. This one is no different.

One admirer comments, “NO SONG IS SAFE FROM KELLY,” beneath the video. “Slays every cover.”

“This country style fits so well to this song, and with Kelly singing it made it look like original,” someone else says. “Like she said, sounds like a Dolly Parton original song that Sabrina covered.”

“Really feels like this was born to be a country ballad,” another person observes.

“This song has always made me feel like Olivia Newton John could have sand it back when she was doing country,” a supporter writes. “It’s a terrific song, and Kelly’s cover proves I was right that it was a 70’s era country song.”
