Ella Langley Is Still a Redneck at Heart

In terms of music, 2024 was a great year for Ella Langley.

At the November CMA Awards, her song “You Look Like You Love Me” with Riley Green won “Musical Event of the Year.” It was a huge hit and helped launch Langley’s career.

Even while her life may appear more glitzy and glamorous now than it was in the past, we asked the Alabama native what redneck activities she still engages in ahead of the CMA Awards.

“I just bought a pellet gun, because I have a rodent issue and the neighborhood will not take care of it,” she says.

A skunk sprayed my dog when I was out the other night, which infuriated me.

When another furry intruder invaded her backyard, Langley was done because she doesn’t hesitate to take issues into her own hands.

“There was a possum walking on the fence the other night and it scared me so bad,” she says. “I almost peed my pants, so I ordered a pellet gun, and I m going to take care of it myself.”

Langley quips, though, that she might have to keep her new acquisition a secret.

“I’m going to take care of it myself but don t tell the neighborhood.”

The popularity of “You Look Like You Love Me” and Langley and Green’s evident on-stage chemistry sparked speculation that the two might be dating. Both of them maintain that is untrue.

She avoids the subject by saying, “Riley was probably the first famous person I ever met,” “I played the same places as him, and he was performing at all the clubs I frequented. It’s great to see Alabamans succeeding.

She is adamant that the rumors are untrue.

“We’re not dating,” says Langley adamantly. “We re just good friends.”

Soon, Langley will be getting ready to go on Green’s Damn Country Music Tour. In March, those performances start.
