Despite being one of the most popular groups in country music in the 2010s, The Band Perry informed their fans in 2023 that they were leaving, at least temporarily.
The group appears to be coming out of hiatus at this point.
Although the brother trio hasn’t formally announced their reunion, a change in the band’s roster, a social media makeover, and an expanding list of live engagements give the impression that The Band Perry may be preparing a 2025 comeback.
This is what we currently know.
Are The Band Perry Getting Back Together?
The band cleared its social media accounts in early December and planned a “Homecoming” event in Tennessee to support relief efforts following Hurricane Helene, however it’s unclear if they’re formally relaunching the group.
At first, a lot of people thought that show was unique. Since then, however, The Band Perry has added two more dates: one at the Grand Ole Opry on February 14 and another at the Canadian country event Boots & Hearts in August.
A significant shift in the group’s lineup has also been reflected in the latest social media images.
Who Is Currently Performing as The Band Perry?
Kimberly, Neil, and Reid Perry have been siblings since fans first met them; Kimberly usually takes the main vocals.
However, the band revealed that Johnny Costello would be replacing Neil as the new mandolin and guitar player in their December post promoting the first reunion performance. The couple married in 2021 and welcomed their first kid, a son named Whit, in 2023. Kimberly’s spouse is Costello.
At the moment, Neil Perry is working on his own. The band explains, “We wish Neil the best of luck on his solo journey.”
Why Did The Band Perry Break Up in the First Place? What Have They Been Doing Since Then?
They stated that they wanted to take “a creative break” and concentrate on “individual” career ambitions when they announced their impending hiatus.
Kimberly published an extended project called Superbloom and a solo EP called Bloom during that period. The project included a follow-up to “If I Die Young,” which was published in 2010 and quickly became the group’s biggest hit.

As a solo artist, Neil has been putting out music. “Easy Love,” his most recent single, was released in December.
According to Kimberly’s 2023 reflection, her connection with her brothers has changed since the band took a hiatus. She said that they now spend less time discussing music around the holidays, which is “great for the whole table.”
She added that ending their co-working arrangement has freed them up to concentrate on starting families, including getting married and, for her, having a child.
She continued by saying, “There’s a lot of life to talk about,” “I think that just manifesting for all three of us has just sweetened the relationship so much.”
