Crazy for Cryptids? There’s a Bigfoot Fest Coming to Kentucky

Bigfoot sightings are most likely to occur in Kentucky. You are cordially invited to a major celebration of the elusive cryptid in May 2025!

Most Elusive Cryptid of Our Time

Of the cryptids said to live in North America, Bigfoot is arguably the most well-known and elusive. The giant beast, also called Sasquatch, has been sighted and encountered, and reports of these experiences have been posted online.

Where Did Bigfoot Begin?

In what location did the Bigfoot myth start? It all began in 1958 with a journalist and a Sunday paper headline, claims History.com.

According to a follow-up article in the same newspaper, the loggers had started calling the enigmatic creature that left the traces “Big Foot.”

The Lore Continues

Was this the first known public report, or was the story told by the California loggers really the start? One thing is certain: the legend surrounding these animals has persisted for many years, even if we may never know for sure.

Bigfoot in Kentucky

Bigfoot is so popular that entire groups, like the Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization, are devoted to monitoring and hunting the monster. A US Marine Corps veteran describes his experience in Daviess County, Kentucky, just outside of Owensboro, in the video above, which was posted by the Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization.

There are other professionals keeping an eye on and following these terrifying beasts besides the Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization.

Don’t Head Into the Woods Alone

Going on a hike in Kentucky’s woods by yourself is not something you should do. It’s possible that you will run into a territorial Bigfoot. Several films of sightings have been posted by Sasquatch Theory, such as the one below, in which a guy describes his encounter with a monster he saw in Kentucky’s Daniel Boone National Forest.
