Plans for downtown’s third annual BBQ & Barrels Festival were recently revealed by the City of Owensboro. On Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, the well-liked event—formerly known as the International Bar-B-Q Festival—will make a comeback to downtown Owensboro. A free country music performance will serve as the event’s centerpiece for the second year in a row!
The City of Owensboro hosted country music artist Chris Janson in the city last year to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Owensboro Convention Center. Thousands of people gathered on the convention center’s front lawn to enjoy the music, which was a big success. The same is expected of this year’s program, which includes a 90s country superstar and a budding ‘new country’ talent!

The main act for the 2025 BBQ & Barrels festival will be CLAY WALKER!
In 1993, Clay Walker made his debut in the country music industry with the song “What’s It To You?”
His debut single, the first of six number ones in his career, reached the top of the Billboard Country Chart. Among the other well-known songs on that list are “Rumor Has It,” “I Could Make a Living,” and “Dreaming With My Eyes Wide Open.”
A relatively fresh singer who recently made history in the country music industry will be joining Clay Walker. This put Drew Baldridge at the top of the Billboard Country Chart!
That tune, which Drew Baldridge self-funded without the help of a record label, became one of the most well-known songs of 2024. “Tough People,” his most recent single, is presently rising in the charts.
Clay Walker and Drew Baldridge will perform on Saturday, May 10th at 6:30 p.m. at BBQ & Barrels in downtown Owensboro. The performance is free of charge, open to everybody, and BYOC (bring your own chair).
