Beyonce Snags Country Grammy

Among the early winners at Sunday’s (February 2) 2025 Grammy Awards were Beyonce and Miley Cyrus. The pair won the Best Country Duo/Group Performance trophy for their rendition of “II Most Wanted.”

The presenter accepted it on their behalf because neither artist was present for what the Grammys refer to as their “Premiere Ceremony,” which occurs prior to the televised show (Crypto.com Arena, CBS, 8 PM ET).

“I Had Some Help” by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen, “Cowboys Cry Too” by Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan, “Break Mine” by Brothers Osborne, and “Bigger Houses” by Dan + Shay were the competitors for this award, which Beyonce and Cyrus faced off against.

Beyonce has been nominated for 11 prizes, more than any other artist, so it might be a hectic night for her. Country categories account for four of those nods.

For both performers, it’s their first victory with a country theme. Cyrus received her first two Grammys in 2024, while Beyonce is a highly decorated Grammy winner.

“II Most Wanted” is featured on Cowboy Carter, Beyonce’s debut full-length country album, which was released on March 29, 2024. The celebrity describes it as another endeavor in her portfolio that is uniquely her, without going so far as to label it a country record.

She promoted the project on social media with the post, “This ain’t a country album,” “This is a Beyonce album.”

Live broadcasting of the 67th annual Grammy Awards is happening in Los Angeles. The Grammy Awards will proceed as scheduled, albeit slightly modified to collect money for people impacted by the recent wildfires that devastated the region.
