Evansville Mayor Announces Spring Block-By-Block Cleanup Events

Stephanie Terry, the mayor of Evansville, hopes that cleaning your house in the spring won’t drain all of your vitality. She is hoping that you will be able and willing to help out with some spring cleaning in various communities in Evansville.

The community is encouraged (and urged) to assist in a few Block-by-Block Neighborhood Cleanup events this season, which Mayor Terry has announced the dates, times, and locations for. These cleanups, whether they involve removing trash, cutting overgrown lawns, or restoring dilapidated buildings, give our community a fresh lease on life and pride.

Mayor Terry launched and oversaw two prosperous Block-by-Block celebrations in 2024. She is already planning eight cleanups for 2025 as part of her ongoing initiative! This spring, you can participate in the following ways:

  • Friday, March 21 from 9:00 AM 11:00 AM in the CHAIN Neighborhood
  • Friday, April 25 from 9:00 AM 11:00 AM in the Lamasco Neighborhood
  • Saturday, May 31 from 9:00 AM 11:00 AM in the Tepe Park Neighborhood

This program is only one aspect of Mayor Terry’s Neighborhood Revitalization initiatives, which also include the Affordable Housing Trust Fund programs and the Fight Blight project. Building stronger, cleaner, and more cohesive communities around Evansville is the aim.

Do you want additional information or are you prepared to help? Block can be found at vansvillegov.org. This summer and fall, there will be more Block-by-Block activities; we’ll let you know as soon as we have more information!
