A Morgan Wallen Ticket Scam Cost This Influencer $5K

Despite the fact that the Morgan Wallen-mounted Sand in My Boots Festival has been sold out for months, there is still a strong demand for resale tickets.

Fans may occasionally fall victim to scams as a result.

Macy Blackwell, a well-known online personality, posted a social media video on Monday, February 3, informing her fans that she had been defrauded of $5,000 in a ticket scam.

As she captions the photo, “My first and last experience of trying to buy concert tickets on Facebook,”

Blackwell recounted the entire incident, stating at the beginning that it would never have occurred if she had not been “naive” enough to “[fall] for the scam.”

Although she admits that telling her tale is “embarrassing,” she hopes that by doing so, others will be less likely to fall for the same scam.

“But at the same time, since there is nothing I can do about it and no way to do anything to these people, I can at least share it with you so you don’t fall for the same thing,” she continues.

Blackwell claims that when she tried to buy tickets through a big Facebook resale group, the first “red flag” was when a seller informed her that the tickets were $2,500 each, which was roughly $100 less than what they had initially sold for.

However, Blackwell trusted the vendor enough to send $5,000 for the cost of two tickets using Apple Pay because they were listed as an administrator in a group with many members and activities.

Blackwell began to notice something was off when she received an email with the ticket details: The tickets graphics were riddled with typos and inaccurate information, including the wrong location for Sand in My Boots.

“She must have spent, like, two hours typing up this big phony ticket thing,” she replies.

The scammer continued to operate after the jig was up.

By saying, ‘Oh, you’re going to have to pay for the fees as well,’ they were arrogant. Give me an additional $500. Blackwell goes on.

When she didn’t reply, the administrator’s profile and the full recording of their chat were deleted in a matter of hours.

“I felt so ill that I really went to bed. However, I’ve learned a valuable lesson in life,” she adds. “I’m never gonna try to buy anything on Facebook again.”

Given that this is the inaugural Sand in My Boots Fest, which Wallen announced in October, it is understandable why ticket demand is so high. Headlining acts by Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn, Hardy, and Wallen himself are part of the multi-genre roster.

In just a few hours after going on sale in October, all of the event’s tickets were sold out. The dates of Sand in My Boots are set for May 16–18, 2025, in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
