Kacey Musgraves Takes Home Best Country Song at the 2025 Grammy Awards

On Sunday, February 2, Kacey Musgraves was one of the early 2025 Grammy Award winners.

“The Architect” won Best Country Song during the non-broadcast pre-show before the televised ceremony, and the country-turned-pop star used the occasion to deliver a passionate speech.

“I did not expect that!” Musgraves exclaimed as she stepped onto the stage in a white tank top and a long, glittering skirt.

She praised her supporters and professional team, referring to them as the “best in the world.”

“There’s much darkness in this world right now, and it just feels so good to be able to fight some of that darkness through song,” she stated. It’s a true honor. Thank you.

For Best Country Song in 2025, Musgraves had to contend with fierce opposition from Shaboozey, Beyonce, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, and Morgan Wallen.

Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally, who co-wrote the song with her, were also given the trophy. “The Architect” may be found on Musgraves’ Deeper Well, his sixth solo album, released in 2024.

Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, and Chris Stapleton were among the other country musicians who took home early Grammys in 2025.Best Country Solo Performance went to Stapleton, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance went to Beyonce and Cyrus for “II Most Wanted.”

On Sunday night, beginning at 8 PM ET, CBS will broadcast a program to reveal the remaining 2025 Grammy Award winners.
