Wynonna Judd Opens Up About Life While Raising Her Granddaughter

Although Wynonna Judd usually keeps her personal life very private, the singer recently gave some insights about her everyday life with her young granddaughter, Kaliyah, while co-hosting on TodayWith Jenna & Friends.

After host Jenna Bush Hager inquired about Judd’s opinions on the television thriller Severance, the subject was brought up. The singer claimed that because parenting her granddaughter takes up all of her free time, she doesn’t have much time for TV.

“I don’t watch television unless it’s planned because I’m raising my 2-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter,” Judd explains. “I listen to her.”

Kaliyah is usually in charge of the remote control when she watches TV.

Who does she watch, I wonder? Rachel M. And I’m going to go crazy,” Judd quips.

Ms. Rachel is the stage name of Rachel Accurso, a very well-known YouTuber who specializes in making instructive and entertaining films for children under the age of five. She is particularly well-known for her efforts to promote speech development, and while many adults laugh at Judd’s exaggerated, sing-song voice, she is also well-liked by parents.

Judd has clarified that she like the types of stuff that Ms. Rachel offers. “I just, I can’t talk like that,” she says. “I’d like to be that animated, but I’m not sure how. She is in an other world.

However, she enjoys some children’s shows. “I love Peppa [Pig],” Judd adds.

“We watch all those shows, so I know about that, but I don’t know aboutSeverance,” she continues. “That tells you where I’m at.”

Judd’s 28-year-old daughter Grace Kelley, Kaliyah’s mother, has a history of serious legal issues and substance misuse.

Judd told US Weekly last summer that she has started singing with her granddaughter and that she likes to eat ice cream on their porch with Kaliyah.

The singer remarked at the time, “Being with her in those moments [is] where I realized no amount of money can ever make you this happy.”

She added that Kaliyah always has a picture of Kelley and Naomi Judd with her. “I talk to her about them and say, ‘They love you very much,'” Judd said.

The singer has toured for the most of her life, either as a solo artist or with Naomi as the Judds, but she claims that she is currently making a concerted effort to live a more subdued and domestic existence.

Judd muses on today, “I think we need more of what I have on the farm, which is simple and sweet.” “During meals, we don’t use phones. I learn how to live off the road by doing whatever it takes. since I began traveling at the age of 17. I therefore never had the opportunity to learn how to live a life outside of show business. I’m learning now, then.

“… Food, family and fun is my goal,” she continues.
