HGTV Stars Finally Settle Lawsuit From Disgruntled Clients

Although Dave and Jenny Marrs are accustomed to repairing houses, they had to deal with a legal problem this time.

Days before a trial was scheduled to start, a lawsuit against the two stars of HGTV’s Fixer to Fabulous was just settled.

Matthew and Sarah McGrath, residents of Arkansas, filed a complaint alleging that the Marrs’ businesses, Jupiter Rentals and Marrs Construction, had breached their contract and warranty by failing to finish promised house improvements, according to 5News.

In May 2022, the McGraths signed a deal with Jupiter Rentals to buy a house for $559,000. They paid a down payment of $15,000. Marrs Construction allegedly promised to finish the precise improvements they requested for the house by the closing date, but the work was never completed.

The McGraths supplied a list of fixes that needed to be made following their inspection.

They asserted, however, that by the closing date in August 2022, none of the needed repairs had been finished.

After purchasing the house, the McGraths found numerous building flaws, which led to more issues. They made an effort to resolve the problems using Marrs Construction’s builder’s warranty, but Jupiter Rentals and Marrs Construction are said to have been unresponsive.

In order to pay for the repairs and other costs associated with the companies’ noncompliance with their agreements, the McGraths filed a lawsuit.

On January 24, shortly before the planned trial, the action was formally settled. The lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, which means it cannot be refiled, after both parties agreed that all outstanding claims had been settled.
