Indiana Woman Allegedly Steals Car, Drives Naked, and Crashes It

Following a strange crash in which she was naked, an Indiana woman is being charged with several crimes.

The incident happened on the evening of Sunday, January 19, when temperatures were considerably below freezing, according to CBS News. Indiana Woman Goes on Nude Joyride Before Crashing

A La Porte County Sheriff’s Office officer arrived at the 200 block of West Greenlawn Drive shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday in response to a single-vehicle collision. The homeowner informed the deputy that the driver entered their house while naked and began showering. There was no tie between the driver and the residence, and the driver did not reside there.

In order to confront the driver, Michelle N. Reeves, 37, of La Porte, the deputy went inside the house. Reeves was reportedly trapped in the restroom, but after the officer ordered her to go, she came out wearing only a towel. She had stolen a 2007 BMW that had been sitting in a driveway at a nearby residence, according to the results of the investigation. The homeowner said that the vehicle had struck a basketball hoop before slamming into a tree.

Nude Driver Faces Felony and Misdemeanor Offenses

After being detained, Reeves was brought to a neighboring hospital for evaluation.She faces level six felony charges of theft and illegal access into a vehicle used in a crime, according to CBS News. In addition, Reeves is charged with two Class A and Class C misdemeanors: criminal mischief and public nudity. A $755 cash bond was used to book her into the La Porte County Jail. Whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the occurrence is unknown.
