When “Good as You” singer Kane Brown visited by Taste of Country Nights for a chat with host Evan Paul on Friday, January 24, in preparation for the release of his new album, “The High Road,” the subject of Brown’s three children came up.
When Brown’s children were brought up, he became animated when he was questioned if they realized how fortunate they were and how difficult it is for most people to get money.
Brown replied, “Dude, funniest thing I ever heard my daughter say was, we were taking her to Disney, and we were like, ‘Okay, we want you to know this is your birthday present.'”
Kingsley, Brown’s 5-year-old daughter, was informed that she would not receive any additional birthday presents.
“Of course she ended up getting presents,” Brown added. However, I will state that it is not from me. She received gifts, but I don’t want her to feel pampered.”
Brown reset the story so as not to become bogged down in the specifics. “Anyway, we were talking like, you know, ‘Not everybody, there’s a lot of people, even adults that haven’t got to come to Disney.'”
Brown listed numerous reasons why some individuals never have the opportunity to visit Disney, primarily related to cost, but his daughter seemed unfazed by it.
“Why don’t they just sing?” Brown claimed she questioned after glancing at him.
Brown shrugged after dismissing that one, adding, “It’s having a conversation with a 5-year-old.”
