Evansville and Henderson Grandy’s Abruptly Close Forever

As the entire nation was in sorrow over TikTok’s demise, I learned that one of my favorite eateries had discreetly shuttered its doors for good.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Going to Evansville, which was significant because we lived in Princeton, and dining at Grandy’s is one of my best childhood memories. The chicken fried chicken was like bliss in my mouth because I don’t eat steak. The gravy and mashed potatoes were just the finest. Delicious mashed potatoes without any strange lumps or potato skin. I could eat that as a sandwich by putting it on a roll. I’ve even mastered the skill of eating mashed potatoes while operating a motor vehicle. None of that matters now, though.

The Rise and Fall of Grandy’s

When the ownership of Grandy’s restaurants changed in 2019, the Jasper and Oakland City locations had to close. Oh, but before that, my favorite place on Green River Road was demolished in addition to closing!

Even though I pass the Diamond and First Ave location virtually every day, I’ll agree that it’s rarely crowded and occasionally you might believe it’s closed. Since the conclusion of the epidemic, the restaurant’s exterior signage has merely said that the dining room is now open.

Grandy’s Locations Close with No Notice

Fingers, Fork, Knife Spoon Evansville reports that last week both the Henderson and Evansville establishments shuttered.

In Texas, a number of locations remain open. Who wants to take a short flight?
