Parker McCollum Is Kind of a Helicopter Parent

Major is Parker McCollum’s first child with wife Hallie Ray, and the singer is careful to ensure that his son meets developmental milestones.

“Hey, it’s been two and a half months, and he’s not walking or talking,” I said when I contacted the pediatrician. Taste of Country is made fun of by McCollum. “There is a problem with him.”

“She said it s quite awhile before he does that stuff.”

Since our last conversation, which took place in May before the ACM Awards, he has completely changed. Fatherhood didn’t seem to have hit McCollum yet at the time.In August, Major Yancey McCollum arrived.

He remembered with a smirk, “I suppose Hallie is kind of like, ‘Are you sure you are aware we are having a kid?’? Until he arrives, nothing changes for the husband.

But now that they have a baby, the country music star’s daily routine has drastically changed.

“I am a professional traveler, I can leave for ten days and take a backpack,” adds McCollum. “I love traveling like that those days are gone.”

To meet Major’s requirements, he requires much more than just a bag.

“We have travel humidifiers and a travel crib,” he explains. “We have bags for our clothes and diapers. “Give him a pair of overalls and a pull-up bar, and he’ll be fine until he’s around four,” I said.

Despite the fact that travel may appear very different, McCollum wouldn’t trade it for anything.

“Everyone was right,” he acknowledges with a broad smile. “It s the greatest thing ever, and it s only going to get better.”

Parker McCollum is enjoying his time with his family before embarking on his What Kinda Man Tour later this month.
