Even though Avery, Scotty McCreery’s son, is unaware that his father is a well-known country singer, he has grown to be one of Daddy’s biggest admirers.
The two-year-old recently received a special performance by American Idolalum, and he is known to dance to his father’s music in the car.
As McCreery sang the words to “Porch” to Avery, the endearing moment was captured on camera. He selected a verse addressed to his son:
“Little man, little man, climb up in my lap / Leave your little boots by mine on the mat / One day you’re gonna make this big world yours / But you’ll always have a spot by your daddy on the porch”
McCreery also performs the song’s chorus while Avery, wearing cowboy boots and sitting on Dad’s lap, beams broadly.

Scotty McCreery Says Avery Is a Fan of His Music
Two-year-old Avery is starting to notice more of his surroundings, and he can obviously identify his father’s voice, even when it’s in the shape of a song. Avery is feeling a certain vibe to a certain song, McCreery tells Taste of Country.
“‘Fall of Summer’ is the song, like in the car, if he’s losing his mind or something, like put that song on and immediately he does this thing, like the conductor thing with his hands to dance,” McCreery said during the 2024ACM Awards. “It’s so cute.”
“If you need Avery to calm down he’ll say it too if you play any of my music, like even the old stuff, he’ll go ‘daddy, dada,'” he says. “Obviously, he recognizes the voice. It’s quite charming.
