Popular Cold and Flu Medicine Recalled for a Disturbing Reason

Costco has recalled their well-known Kirkland Signature Cold & Flu medication for the second time in less than a month.

The impacted Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu medication is sourced from specific Midwest and Southeast areas, according to Costco.com. If you believe you may have bought this, look for lot code P140082 and item #1729556.

Costco claims that the recall is because of the possibility of contamination from foreign materials, according to ABC News. By using this drug to treat a cold or flu, you run the risk of becoming much more ill.

It’s crucial to remember that the recall is preventative and that no illnesses have been linked to it thus far. The nature of that foreign material and how it entered are unknown.

Based in New York, LNK International, Inc. is the company that produces medications for Costco. They have issued a fairly blunt warning to anyone in possession of the cold and flu medication, telling them not to take it at all.

“Do not use any remaining product marked with the above lot code; return the item to your local Costco for a full refund.”

A corporation is undoubtedly taking extra precautions to ensure that none of its members consume the tainted medication if it decides to voluntarily recall its own product with no illnesses recorded.
