Six months after a 20-year-old woman’s remains were discovered more than 100 miles from her home, police arrested three persons in connection with her killing.
Maury-Ange Faith Martinez, of Alpharetta, Georgia, was found dead in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in January. Martinez’s relatives reported her missing on August 28, 2023. Her bone remains were discovered approximately 100 miles from the Georgia state line.
Police are unsure how long her remains had been there. According to arrest records obtained by 11Alive, Allen Kerr, Sean Deschauzer, and Jasmine Craig were all detained in connection with her death.
Cobb County police said all three were charged with “concealing the death of another in connection with Martinez’s death.”
Martinez’s mother, Anita Darling, stated her final moments with her daughter were lovely. She explained: “We spent the day together. It was August 17. We went out for sushi and then watched the Barbie movie.
“We were just hanging around that day. “We just spent the day relaxing and catching up,” her mother explained. Her mother called her a “charismatic, magnetic, sparkling, fun, loving person.”
Darling also told themirror that she was on her way to “a courthouse in Atlanta” to pick her up when Martinez called to say she had gotten a ride.
Martinez informed her mother that she had gotten a ride with someone she did not know. “I spoke with her about it, and it still looked strange. I hung off the phone with her and felt nervous,” she told Local News 3. The mother claims she sent Martinez a text message, which was viewed at 10 p.m. but she never responded.
